In Good Company
I’ve talked to you about Live Large in the past. This group of amazing people is aiming to improve lives by addressing social isolation, the virtualization of friendship, and the epidemic of division in society. The last paragraph of their manifesto reads:
We embrace community and interdependence. The quality of life is a function of relationships. The story is made sweeter by the people that populate the pages of our autobiography. You will find kindred spirits in this family. We don’t need fortune, fame, or followers. We strive to live lives that matter.
Who are those people populating the pages of your autobiography? Are you intentional about the people you spend your days with? Are they helping you become a better person? Do you have true ride-or-die friends? Real friends may save your life one day.
They say that you are the average of your five closest friends. I don’t know if that is true, but it is a good question to ask yourself. Are you happy with the answer? If your inner circle defines you then you should be smart about who you let on the inside. Build a meaningful life with meaningful relationships.
